Suzuki revolutionized the sportbike category in 1985 by introducing the original GSX-R750. This was one of the first motorcycles to wear the GSX-R badge and cemented the Japanese manufacturer’s place in sportbike history. Today, over 37 years later, the GSX-R750 lives on, but quicker, better equipped, and more capable than ever before.

Initially designed for the 750cc class of motorcycle racing (which popularity later directed the industry to build 600cc race bikes instead), Suzuki is currently the only Japanese manufacturer still producing a 750cc supersport for a racing class that no longer exists. At the heart of the motorcycle is a 750cc inline-four engine that produces 148hp and 64 lb-ft of torque. It’s the perfect stepping stone for someone who wants to upgrade from the GSX-R600 without jumping straight to the GSX-R1000, both of which are also part of the 2022 Suzuki model lineup.

As the Japanese manufacturer mentions on its website, “The GSX-R750 is a modern representative of Suzuki’s championship-winning heritage, delivering an exciting riding experience you can use on the street or on the racetrack – it’s your choice.” True to its words, Suzuki has equipped the GSX-R750 with a host of track-spec hardware and electronics ideal for the street.

On offer is Showa suspension at either end, Brembo Monoblock front calipers, and the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) that lets you adjust power delivery depending on riding conditions. For 2022, the GSX-R750 is available in two color schemes — Glass Matte Mechanical Gray / Pearl Brilliant White and Glass Blaze Orange / Glass Sparkle Black. Meanwhile, the GSX-R750Z, which is essentially the same motorcycle, is available in a Metallic Triton Blue / Metallic Mystic Silver colorway that pays tribute to the manufacturer’s MotoGP machines.
